Josephine “Jodie” Parker
Jodie Parker, joined the Houston Junior Forum (HJF) in 1978. She grew up in Houston and attended the University of Houston. Jodie chaired or co-chaired many committees including the Gala Program, Silent Auction, Resale Shop, Recreation Center for Older Adults (RCOA) Kitchen and taught ceramics for three years to older adults at the RCOA. Over the years Jodie was elected to HJF Leadership, serving as Admissions Chair and most recently as Treasurer for four years and VP Financial Resources volunteering over 1,000 hours each year. Jodie’s commitment to HJF speaks for itself but holds second place to her family. In the words of her children Kristie Wetmore and Billy Parker “We are so proud of our mom! She is smart, dedicated, and hardworking in everything she does. She is always there for us and her many wonderful friends. She loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and sharing good times. She is a wonderful mom and friend. We couldn’t ask for anything more.” it is almost impossible not to benefit in some way from Jodie’s commitment and devotion to the Houston Junior Forum, whether you are an HJF member, part of her family or her friend. Jodie is a business woman who owns and manages real estate and she volunteers with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and is a member of LTG Houston.
